Evaluation Services

Evaluations can be used to help better understand your child’s strengths and challenges, clarify a diagnosis, obtain supports/services, inform school placements and/or provide recommendations for treatment.

Child and adolescent evaluations are provided to assess the following areas:

  • Learning Disabilities

  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule - 2nd edition, Autism Diagnostic Interview -Revised)

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Intellectual Functioning (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, 5th edition)

  • Comprehensive Psychological Assessments

  • Differential Diagnoses

  • Adaptive Behavior Assessment (Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales)

  • And other individual needs

  • While the appropriate age range can vary depending on the purpose of the assessment, we see clients from as young as five years old through early adulthood, we can work with you to get the answers you or your child have been looking for.

  • A psychological evaluation can be helpful in many ways. Evaluations can help to confirm a diagnosis, better understand yourself or your child, rule out possible differential diagnoses, further inform treatment, or obtain services/supports.

  • Step 1: Complete the online form or call the office to initiate the evaluation process.

Step 2: You will be contacted to collect general information about your child/adolescent and reason for requesting evaluation.

Step 3: After reviewing your information an intake appointment will be scheduled. You will be given access to the client portal to complete intake paperwork, view upcoming appointments, and billing information.

Step 4: You and your child will meet with a provider for the initial intake session and make a plan for the course of the evaluation.

Step 5: The next several sessions are spent gathering remaining background information, completing screening tools, and administering assessments. This can take between 1 to 3 sessions (or 2-3 hours) depending on the depth of the assessment.

Step 6: Provider will score all assessments, review relevant documentation, and interpret findings to determine diagnosis and recommendations.

Step 7: A feedback session will be scheduled to go over evaluation results, and provide recommendations based on findings.

Step 8: You will be provided with a written and signed report detailing the evaluation process, results, and recommendations should you request one.
