Melissa J. Dudley, PhD
Education and Credentials
Dr. Melissa Dudley is a licensed psychologist with over 10 years of experience providing child and adolescent psychotherapy and psychological assessments. Dr. Dudley earned her PhD in Counseling/School Psychology from the University at Buffalo. She also has a Masters degree in Social Work and is dually licensed in psychology and social work in NYS.
Prior to opening Red Elm Psychology, Dr. Dudley has worked in various mental health and school settings, providing psychological services to a broad range of patient populations, including group and individual counseling, psychoeducational evaluations and neuropsychological assessments.
In addition to working in private practice, Dr. Dudley is an Assistant Professor of School Psychology at Alfred University in Alfred, NY. She teaches graduate courses covering psychotherapy, cognitive, academic and social-emotional assessments and provides clinical supervision for master's and doctoral-level students and post-doctoral psychologists.
Specializations
Evaluation: She has received specialized training in Autism screening and evaluation, including:
Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2): an observational assessment used to aid in the assessment and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders across ages, developmental levels, and language skills.
Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised, (ADI-R): a comprehensive parent interview that provides an assessment of individuals suspected of having autism spectrum disorder.
Psychotherapy: Specialized training in providing cognitive behavioral therapy (ACT, ERP, DBT) for the treatment of anxiety, depression, OCD, and panic symptoms.
